The principal shrine of this community is Shinmeisha Shrine, devoted to the Sun God (Amaterasu). As Shinmeisha Shrine has been the center of worship for Ise Shrine, it is natural that this shrine introduced Ise Dai-Kagura. Ise Dai-Kagura characteristically requires seemingly almost endless beats of drums. It is probably related to the Ise Dance and has the effect of repelling evil spirits.
