Kinzan Daiko (Kinzan Drums) was born with the mine at Ōkuzo. It was performed to entertain and relax the mine workers. It is now performed to appease the spirits of the ancestors at Kinzan Cemetery and other places in the community. As it was originally a miners’ dance, it was characterized by a powerful crescendo. Another character of Kinzan Daiko is the powerful sound, which makes echoes from the mountains surrounding the community.
