Kashima Drums are a kind of Hayashi Geinō performed at the Kashima Festival in the area. Shigenai-Yashiki is a community on the shore of the Nagakigawa River, a northern tributary of the Yoneshiro River. This community has practiced the Kashima Festival after rice-planting since olden times to seek the repulsion of evil spirits and good harvests.
